Dear Supporter of Rian,
You haven’t heard much from us lately. We are busy!
As Rian’s new Executive Director I want to provide a brief update, our small Immigration Legal Services Team has an open case load of 529 cases, 476 of which are full representation. These cases include petitions / applications for crime victims, victims of human trafficking, those with urgent medical needs, and unaccompanied children.
These are legally and emotionally complex cases, and are in support of some of the most vulnerable in our community.
Without our help, they risk being detained and deported - cruelty on top of cruelty.
In addition, in light of ever-changing immigration policy, our attorneys are fielding several phone calls and email inquiries from clients and their advocates every day - regarding their rights and levels of risk, and how to keep themselves and their families safe.
This is a time when we must ask ourselves whether we will stand idly by, avert our attention, or provide our support. The good news is that there is something you can do.
I am asking for your help. We are at full capacity and there are so many more who need our help. Please help us expand our capacity with your financial support.
