Dear John,
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support in spreading the message about Trump's harmful budget proposal. Unfortunately, on Tuesday the House voted 217 to 215 (a bare majority) to pass the resolution to proceed to a more critical vote (most likely in April) on a reconciliation budget that slashes safety net and other programs while giving billionaires massive tax breaks. Tuesday’s vote was deeply frustrating, but we made them sweat the preliminary vote, and the next and final budget vote will be much harder for them to take, especially because we’re going to make a lot of noise between now and then. Your efforts in raising awareness over the last few days were pivotal to building pressure.
We couldn’t be more thankful for your dedication. Because of you and others across the state of California, more people are waking up to the real consequences of Trump’s budget for billionaires and how it threatens vital programs that help our communities thrive. In partnership with We Are California, we reached out to thousands of voters to identify people willing to join us and patched through hundreds of people to targeted members of Congress.

This fight is not over and the pressure is still on. Now, more than ever, we need your help. We know this budget isn’t just a policy—it’s a sneaky way to line the pockets of billionaires, bigots, and bullies while robbing our communities of the resources they need to survive and prosper. This is a fight for our future, and we must continue to stand together to stop it. We urge you to continue spreading the word via email [[link removed]] or by calling (202) 224-3121 and ask to speak to your congressional representative’s office. Share our posts on Instagram [[link removed]] and Facebook [[link removed]] and the We the People page [[link removed]] far and wide!
WE the People are stronger together. Let’s keep pushing forward, resisting their attacks on our dignity, and making our voices heard. Stay tuned in, we have five weeks to turn up the heat.
In Solidarity,
