John,

We’re barely two months in, but already, Donald Trump is setting the stage for unprecedented levels of corruption within our government.

Here are five alarming actions he’s taken from the resolute desk that we’re working to combat — just the facts:

1) He ousted the head of the Office of Government Ethics, the key figure tasked with preventing conflicts of interest. This role typically lasts five years, outlasting presidential cycles to ensure unbiased oversight.

2) His administration halted the enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. This critical law prevents American companies, including the companies owned by Donald Trump himself, from illegally bribing foreign officials.

3) He nullified Executive Order 13989, which barred political appointees from accepting gifts from lobbyists, thereby removing ethical guardrails that protect our democracy from influence.

4) He sacked nearly all U.S. Inspectors General, the independent watchdogs crucial for discovering and addressing fraud and corruption. In the past, their efforts have recouped billions of dollars and prevented wasteful spending, enhancing Congressional oversight. Now, without them, unethical activities can go unchecked.

5) He is hiding the financial disclosure reports of the key members of the executive branch, like Elon Musk, from public view.

Donald Trump and his allies are not draining the swamp. They are filling it, deepening it, and widening it, making it increasingly easy to exploit the government while taxpayers bear the cost.

But we are still a democracy. And in a democracy, the power of the people is always greater than the people in power. If we use our power.

And John, the most common way people surrender their power is by not realizing they have it in the first place. Add your name now to let me know you will use your voice to stand up for what’s right. [[link removed]]

As Americans, we have a duty to tell folks who aren’t listening to the truth about what this administration is doing — and we need them to join us in raising our voices and stirring up good trouble.

We stopped Donald Trump when he tried to take away our health care, and I know we can stop him now as he dangerously tests the limits of his power — but we need to do it together.
