The City of San Diego’s continuing initiatives and bold leadership in building a better and sustainable future for all of us have been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council in designating San Diego as a LEED Gold City. Their rigorous certification acknowledges the City's work, in part, to integrate sustainability into every department and decision, prioritizing green solutions, reducing emissions, and improving quality of life for all San Diegans.

D1 Town Hall round 2! Join me at the La Jolla Recreation Center on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, to reflect on recent accomplishments and share goals for the year ahead, as I open the floor for your questions on D1 and City-wide issues. If you are unable to make it, my final town hall of the year will be on March 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at the Pacific Highlands Ranch Library.

San Diego sees the impacts of extreme weather—wildfires, King Tides, drought, and floods. I shared our experiences and our solutions at the Innovate Locally to Inspire Change Globally Summit, where I joined statewide and global leaders to discuss Frontline Climate Extremes. The two-day forum reinforced the need for global collaboration in resiliency as we adapt to the new climate norms. True progress comes when local, national, and global leaders work together, aligning policies, resources, and innovation.

San Diego is a proud soccer city ⚽️. This week, I joined my Council colleagues and the Mayor in proclaiming March 1, 2025, as “San Diego FC Day,” celebrating the inaugural home opener of our Major League Soccer team. I am heartened to see the team embrace San Diego spirit and our communities.
