TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE FOUNDATION (TPWF)

One visit to Texas and it’s easy to understand why this tremendous territory so rich in heritage, history, and natural wonders and resources was so hotly contested by countries the world over. First claimed by France, then Spain, and finally Mexico before Texian defenders declared their independence on March 2, 1836, Texas Independence Day marks a pivotal moment when Texas became a Lone Star, driven by a wild independent spirit that still permeates Texas today.
It is in this same spirit that Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) was founded. For the last 30+ years, we have been committed to conserving the lands, waters, and wildlife that make Texas so uniquely Texas. Together with our many partners, we have conserved over 215,000 acres of wild, including tens of thousands of acres of grassland habitat for birds and vital pollinators. We continue to support black bear recolonization and pronghorn restoration, as well as the exigent charge to conserve desert bighorn sheep populations in West Texas. Along our Texas Coast, we have conserved over 6,700 acres of pristine barrier habitat along Matagorda Peninsula, home to a remarkable array of wildlife for nesting sea turtles and a multitude of birds.
The meaningful change we have realized is driven by our desire to keep Texas wild, but our work is never done. *"The single most important factor in our work is you. "*
We invite you to learn more about our work [ [link removed] ], and join us on our mission. The future of Texas depends on all of us working together to advance our outdoor traditions and conserve our wild things and wild places.
