Hi John, it's Dani here. We’re currently in Manchester for the launch of the Independent Water Commission.

We’ve come today with one clear ask: Reform the broken system. No more tinkering around the edges. No more bullsh*t. The time for action is NOW. ✊✊✊

What is the Independent Water Commission?

This is the independent review of the water sector that we’ve been calling for. It will provide recommendations for government, which will form the basis of further legislation. It's our chance for change.

Surfers Against Sewage pushed really hard for this commission to exist. And thanks to campaigners like you, it’s actually happening. 💪

Why is it important?

So far this year, we've seen 84,000 sewage discharges already. Bills are going up, shareholders are taking huge payments and infrastructure is crumbling. 💩

This Independent Commission is our chance to change the system that pollutes for profit. Water companies must deliver for the people of this country and end sewage pollution.

How can you have your say on this?

We’re stoked to see that the public will be allowed to share their views in this review. People power works. We won’t take anything less than ending sewage pollution now.

We will be putting together some guidance on how to complete the call for evidence soon. Keep your eyes peeled and save us as a contact so you don't miss the email! 👀

What will SAS be doing?

This is a critical part of our #EndSewagePollution campaign. We will be providing evidence to the review and making sure we keep up the pressure for real change.

Keep your eyes on your inbox as we'll be following up with guidance on how you can have your say.

How can you take action now?

As a charity, we cannot deliver change-making campaigns and take on the polluters without funds provided by our members.

We rely on people like you, who are willing to take a stand, to fuel our fight.

For as little as the cost of a cup of coffee each month, you can help. And you'll receive some epic member perks along the way!

Will you take action for our wild waters today, John?

YES, I'LL JOIN THE FIGHT [[link removed]]
