Every Texan should have the freedom to operate according to their ethical and religious beliefs!

That includes doctors, nurses, and other medical providers. The freedom to live and work consistent with one’s conscience is at the heart of what motivates many who enter the medical field. That is why Texas Values is leading the fight on House Bill (HB) 2816.

For many doctors and nurses, certain procedures and treatments violate their oath to “do no harm.” For example, participating in medically unnecessary “gender transition” procedures, or providing specific drugs for abortion, sterilization, or transitioning purposes would violate the consciences of these medical professionals.

Your contribution will go towards making an impact on our legislative priorities for the 89th Regular Session that began January 14, 2025.

A flood of aggressive #BanTheBible bills have surfaced!

Despite their 100% failure to pass last session and overwhelming opposition from Texas citizens year after year, Democratic state legislators brought back #BantheBible bills again in the 89th Legislature!

Hiding under the disguise of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity,” these harmful bills create special privileges for some and ban the free expression of Biblical beliefs, especially with regard to marriage and sexuality. Those who do not comply or agree with radical LGBT gender ideology could face fines, possible jail time, or other punishment by the government.

The Texas Values policy team closely monitors each measure as it is filed and analyzes for harmful provisions.

Read some of the worst #BantheBible bills so far, and see who authored them, on our webpage.

Last week, a Texas judge fined and stopped, by court order, a New York abortionist who was illegally sending chemical abortion drugs to Texas women violating the Human Life Protection Act, a law in Texas that protects the life of a pre-born baby from conception and criminalizes doctors who violate this law. According to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, this is the first case in the nation, where a state has successfully held abortionists accountable for violating Texas Law.

Jonathan Saenz, President & Attorney for Texas Values weighed in: "Texas has made it clear that we will protect innocent life and stop dangerous abortion drugs from killing both babies and moms. Today’s ruling makes this clear! Other states should respect Texas law and stop bringing illegal business across state lines. It is heartless and manipulative to send a woman drugs long distance, without any medical care or safety procedure when these drugs are known to cause hemorrhaging, excessive bleeding, and even death to at least one person.”

Texas Values was the leading organization in advocating for the Texas Heartbeat Law at the Texas Legislature and the No Mail Order Abortion Ban Law in 2021. To learn more about how Texas helps babies and mothers, visit LoveThemBothTexas.com.

Texas Senate Bill Filed to Ban Taxpayer-Funded Expenditures on Abortions

Parties found to be involved in such transactions would be subject to any legal actions brought forth by the attorney general or Texas residents. Texas Values led the effort to pass SB 22 to ban taxpayer funds going to abortion providers in 2019 and had continued to lead on the pro-life issue with the TexasHeartbeatLaw.com

"Texas has been a national leader in defending the sanctity of life, and Senate Bill 730 is another critical step in ensuring that taxpayer dollars are never used to fund abortion-related travel." - Sen. Dr. Donna Campbell. Read the article in The Texan.

Thank you, Dr. Campbell, for introducing legislation that would prohibit government organizations from assisting abortion providers!
