Hi John,

Late last month, a 90-day pause on US foreign assistance sent shockwaves
across the globe, imperiling the lives of millions, derailing progress
against preventable disease, and opening the door for our adversaries to
fill a leadership void.

Don’t get me wrong, threats to lives and health abroad are of the most
urgent concern. But we must acknowledge that these decisions could have
major financial impacts on American farmers, businesses, and
universities.

We’ve scoured the internet and pulled together some examples of how this
decision to halt US foreign assistance is reverberating across the

* A fertilizer center in Alabama could lose 30% to 40% of its funding
base without USAID support, which could endanger global food security.
