When Donald Trump referred to himself as a “king” on the White House’s official social media, I was reminded of a passage from one of my favorite poems by Langston Hughes, Let America Be America Again:

Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamed —
Let it be that great strong land of love
Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme
That any man be crushed by one above.

What keeps me going in Congress is my mission of keeping the dream of America alive for my constituents in North Carolina and across the country. I do that by working each and every day to defend our eternal values of freedom and democracy – even from the current administration’s reckless attacks on them.

We the people can hold Donald Trump and Elon Musk accountable, but I need your support before my campaign's end-of-month deadline tomorrow. Will you chip in $10 now?
