John,

Gun violence kills 100 people in America every day. This is a public health epidemic, and we need to start treating it like one.

The first step to ending gun violence is to fully understand the issue so that we can identify and invest in solutions. However, the Senate is blocking crucial research funding that will save lives.

The House has already done its part by allocating money in the federal budget for research on gun safety, firearm injury, and mortality prevention. But that funding is stuck in limbo without the Senate’s approval.

Gun violence is a public health epidemic. We demand you ensure the federal budget includes approved funding for the CDC and NIH to research gun violence. To make our communities safer, we must understand the causes of gun violence so that we can better develop policies and identify solutions to end this crisis.
