Freedom Champion Drive February 2025

All this week we are running a drive, aiming to increase our number of Freedom Champions.

Freedom Champions are ordinary people - just like you - doing something extraordinary to help vulnerable and suffering animals. Our monthly donors power all that we do to end the exploitation of animals. And they play a critical role in stopping cruelty.

I'm going to be honest with you, for us to be able to carry out our ambitious plans for 2025 and beyond, we really need more support - can we count on you?

Not only do our Freedom Champions fund public protests and investigations to expose cruelty and help animals, they enable government lobbying and help to educate the public that animal captivity is wrong.

It was all thanks to our amazing supporters that we gained the huge victory of the wild animals in circuses ban, but there is so much still to do until all animals are free!

Today is International Polar Bear Day - This is Victoria, an elderly bear living in a zoo in Scotland. She is one of 16 polar bears captive across four zoos in the UK. She has been used to breed and has given birth to four cubs in her life, one who sadly died.

The con in conservation is so clear with this species. No captive bred polar bear has ever been released to the wild! Victoria is now 29 years old and is on anti-arthritic medications, even though her last cub was only born a couple of years ago.

Help to end suffering!

Polar bears do not belong in zoos!

We know that ALL animals suffer in captivity, but to keep such wide-ranging animals who spend most of their days in the wild traveling in cages up to one-millionth the size of their natural home range is truly shocking.

Captivity affects animals with reduced life expectancies, high infant mortality rates and heat stress, and they often develop zoochosis stereotypies, including repetitive behaviours like constantly shaking their heads, swaying, and pacing or swimming in circles.

How can they be allowed to suffer like this? We must END CAPTIVITY!

We urgently need you to speak out and stand up as an ally for animals.
