Hi there,

You may have already seen this video, but we wanted to share it one more time. The truth is, it symbolizes a much larger issue that we need to address.
Here’s the video in case you haven’t had a chance to watch it:

Here’s why we are bringing it to your attention: We watch this video and see a terrifying possible future. One in which women are physically overtaken by men for expressing dissent to the very policies – put in place by other men – that affect our lives and our safety. It’s a bleak reality, but it appears to be the lived experience for millions of women across our country – especially in red states. We cannot allow this to stand.

This video is an urgent reminder that women desperately need to safeguard and expand our power. At Her Bold Move, we know how to make that happen: by electing more qualified, pro-choice, pro-WOMEN women to the rooms where laws are being written. When women are not in the seats of power (as shown in this disturbing video), we truly cannot expect to hold onto our civil liberties.

As you know, money is power. Women candidates running for public office need to have access to the same amount of funding as their male counterparts (if not more) in order to meaningfully compete for these positions. You can join us in providing that funding by chipping in $20.25 or more today →

Hi there,

We wanted to ensure you saw the (now viral) video from a recent town hall in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. While it is disturbing, we hope you’ll take a look to understand the magnitude of what is happening in our country right now.

A woman named Teresa Borrenpohl was pushed to the ground and then dragged out of her local town hall meeting by the County Sheriff and three private security guards for shouting questions about Medicaid and reproductive healthcare.

According to Newsweek, “Borrenpohl told the Idaho Statesman that people cheering for GOP policies at the town hall were not told to stop, but whenever anyone expressed dissent, they were scolded. Borrenpohl was not the only person interjecting throughout the event, however, she was the only person who was tackled to the ground.”

She was told to shut up and referred to as a “little girl” by the event’s emcee, Ed Bejarana. (For the record, she is a grown woman…) It’s worth noting that every single one of the elected leaders on the stage that evening were men.

We desperately need more women in our government to safeguard our progress and, importantly, protect our civil liberties as women. If you understand the urgency of this work, join our fight by chipping in $20.25 or more today. → [link removed]

The video shows that the only people defending the woman are other women, as powerful men overtake her in every possible way. It is a disturbing spectacle, and it is being compared to The Handmaid’s Tale.

One of the most chilling parts of this video is the fact that it took place at a government town hall – a uniquely American format designed to give constituents the venue to express their dissent and the ability to hold our elected representatives accountable.

At Her Bold Move, we watch this video and see a terrifying possible future. One in which women are physically overtaken by men for expressing dissent to the very policies (put in place by other men) that affect our lives and our safety. It’s a bleak reality – but it appears to be the lived experience of millions of women across our country – especially in red states. We cannot allow this to stand.
While there are many obvious reasons to elect more women to government, this video highlights an urgent one: It is the only way to safeguard women’s safety and civil liberties in America. Men should not be making laws about women’s lives or bodies – and they should not be given the opportunity to physically deprive us of our First Amendment rights. Join our important fight today by donating $20.25 or more right now. → [link removed]

Her Bold Move is the fastest-growing support network for women running for office in the United States. Since our founding in 2020, we have supported hundreds of pro-choice, pro-women women candidates across 42 states and counting. As abortion bans and other dangerous laws about women tend to get passed in states with the lowest representation numbers for women in government (4%, 11%, 12%....) we've made it our mission to break the anti-choice male supermajorities in those state legislatures.
