Email from Massachusetts Republican Party Dems move to BLOCK the will of the voters Hello, In a blatant rejection of government accountability, the Democratic Supermajority blocked a Republican-led rule change that would have required the chamber to undergo an audit by Auditor DiZoglio’s office, as mandated by Ballot Question 1—an initiative overwhelmingly approved by voters. Every. Single. Republican voted in favor of the rule change. Every. Single. Republican voted for transparency and good governance. It’s the Democratic Supermajority that stood in opposition in a deliberate attempt to shield themselves from scrutiny. This is a classic power grab! Instead of respecting the democratic process, House Speaker Ron Mariano and his allies are stonewalling Republican efforts to uphold the will of the voters. Democrats claim to support transparency, yet at every turn, they block oversight, consolidate their power, and keep taxpayers in the dark. What are they so afraid of? Republicans are committed to real solutions, transparency, and putting Massachusetts families first.
