Dear NRDC Supporter,
- "Climate change is speeding toward catastrophe. The next decade is crucial, U.N. panel says" – The New York Times
- "Humanity can still stop the worst consequences of climate change, but time is running out, U.N.'s IPCC warns" – PBS NewsHour
- "World is on brink of catastrophic warming, U.N. climate change report says" – The Washington Post
Recent headlines paint a terrifying picture of our climate future. We've got less than a decade to slash greenhouse gases in HALF or watch higher and higher temperatures and climate disasters wreaking havoc on all life.
Despite this dire reality, fossil fuel companies continue to push for more drilling off our coasts… on public lands... near iconic national parks... and even in our own backyards.
As NRDC's lawyers, scientists, policy experts, and grassroots organizers continue fighting back on every possible front, it's important for us to understand where our supporters like you stand. Will you take a second to register your opinion?
Do you think the U.S. is doing enough to combat the climate crisis?

1.5 degrees Celsius warming above pre-industrial levels was our line in the sand. The world agreed: Go higher than that and we threaten the survival of our planet.
But we're watching that goal slip away.
Already, our world has warmed 1.1 degrees. And that warming will continue unless we rapidly accelerate our transition away from fossil fuels.
That's why right now, we're fighting to stop out-of-control fossil fuel development, preserve 30% of our lands and waters crucial to stopping runaway climate change, and win bolder investments that will speed up our transition to a clean energy future.
Our success depends on people like you. So we have to know where you stand.
Do you think the U.S. is doing enough to combat the climate crisis?
