2025 Wyoming Wildlife photo contest winners
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department congratulates the *winners of "Wyoming Wildlife" magazine’s annual photo contest.* [ [link removed] ] Photographers of all ages showcased their skills in the 55th annual contest, which received more than 3,000 submissions. The grand prize winner for best overall photo titled, “"Somebody doesn’t want to share",” of two gray wolves from Evan Watts of Gardiner, Mont.
Former Game and Fish Director nominated to lead USFWS
Former Game and Fish Director Brian Nesvik addresses campers at WMCC
Former Wyoming Game and Fish Department Director Brian *Nesvik was nominated by the Trump administration to be the next U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director.* [ [link removed] ] The nomination was announced Feb. 12. Nesvik retired from Game and Fish in 2024 after more than 29 years with the agency.
Funding available for Wyoming sage-grouse conservation
Male sage-grouse
Funding is available to support projects benefiting sage-grouse and their habitats. The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission expects to allocate *$295,000 to support eight local Sage-Grouse Working Groups* [ [link removed] ] to fund projects and address the primary threats to sage-grouse as identified in their local conservation plans.
Game and Fish still accepting stamp art contest entries
Collectible conservation stamp art contest
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is still accepting original artwork from both professional artists and students for the *2026 Collectible Conservation Stamp Art Contest. [ [link removed] ]* The spotlight this year is on the American pika. For the professional contest, the winning image will be featured on the 2026 collectible conservation stamp and the top five receive a monetary award, including $3,500 for the winner.
Tickets available for Wyoming Outdoor Hall of Fame event
Wyoming Outdoor Hall of Fame 2025
Tickets are available for the *Wyoming Outdoor Hall of Fame induction ceremony* [ [link removed] ], which will be held from 6-9 p.m. March 19 at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody. This year’s inductees are Dr. Douglas Crowe (posthumously), Steve Kilpatrick and Jim Zumbo. Colton Schick of Cheyenne will be recognized as the Youth Conservationist of the Year.
