John,
As this pandemic continues, we have continued to stand by Heifer families. Many of them now face hunger and are at risk of slipping back into poverty as stay-at-home orders make it difficult for them to earn income. For those who rely on small-scale farmers for produce, meat or other protein, access is now extremely limited.
But our staff on the ground have been creatively developing solutions to address the growing food shortages these families now face. So, I want to share with you a few ways we've been combating the pandemic and making progress for families in need, despite the crisis at hand.

Creative and effective solutions to food shortages (like the ones you'll read about!) would not have been possible without your support. These efforts make all the difference for families most vulnerable to the effects of this pandemic. Thank you for ensuring that families never slip back into the hunger and poverty they knew before Heifer -- and you -- came into their lives.
With gratitude,
Caitlin Richard
