Dear Democrats,
Yesterday, House Republicans passed a budget that is nothing short of a disaster for working people. The budget has $880 billion in cuts. Each year, extremely profitable corporations receive billions in tax subsidies. Do you think the cuts will come out of these subsidies? Absolutely not.
The cuts will come out of programs like Medicaid and programs that people like you and me rely on. This budget rips away health care, slashes food assistance, and guts programs that millions rely on—all to hand massive tax breaks to billionaires and giant corporations.
Let’s be clear: This is not a budget for the people. This is a budget written by and for the billionaire class. It hands out $4.5 trillion in giveaways to the ultra-rich while cutting $2 trillion from programs like Medicaid and food assistance.
Meanwhile, families across this country are struggling to pay for groceries, afford rent, and see a doctor. But to the Republicans in Congress, the needs of working people don’t matter.
We cannot let them get away with this. If we don’t fight back, millions of Americans will suffer while the rich get richer.
That’s why I’m asking you today: Can you chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can to help us stop this cruel agenda?
