They’re not even trying to hide it anymore. Last night, Republicans passed a budget proposal that would increase the debt ceiling by about 4 trillion dollars–the exact same amount of tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy. They’re saying the quiet part loud–they want taxpayers to subsidize tax breaks for billionaires.

The budget proposal narrowly passed 217 - 215. Not a single Democrat voted for this bill.

I won’t stand by as millions of Americans lose critical programs like Medicaid, especially not to fund trillions of dollars of tax cuts to billionaires. As the proposal heads to the Senate, I will continue to fight for legislation that supports working and middle-class families and introduce legislation that protects the American taxpayer, like the CLEAR Act.

And on the ground, I will work to ensure that we have a majority that puts their country over their party and does not bow down to billionaires. That starts here in MI-03. We have once again been named one of the most competitive House races in the country by the Cook Political Report.
