"This is Gavin Newsom"Hi John,
I've just published a new blog post:
"This is Gavin Newsom" [link removed]
I just spoke with President Trump in the Oval Office. Among other topics, I thanked him for working with us to bring sanity to water policy in California.
In this and so many other ways, our plan to Newsom-Proof California [link removed] is full steam ahead. And as his defeats pile up, Newsom’s behavior has become increasingly bizarre. Today, he announced he’s starting a new podcast, creatively named “This is Gavin Newsom.”
He’s also becoming even more shameless. His latest scheme is to sabotage Prop. 36 [link removed] by neglecting to fund it. Newsom was humiliated when voters overwhelmingly passed our initiative, and now he’s refusing to accept the election result. We won’t let him get away with it.
He can also clearly see the end is near for High-Speed Rail. As I pointed out over the meek chants [link removed] of pro-Newsom protesters, my bill to cut off federal funding will kill the project. And as I told Fox News [link removed], this will mark the end of the biggest infrastructure debacle in U.S. history.
Also, in a Floor Speech [link removed] today, I called on Congress to protect Medicaid benefits for American citizens – by stopping Newsom from giving them to illegal immigrants. California plans to spend hundreds of billions on illegal healthcare over the next decade. My legislation prevents it.
Elsewhere at the Capitol, I introduced [link removed] the Modern Worker Empowerment Act to protect independent workers; helped pass [link removed] a bill to allow scores of Biden regulations to be swiftly overturned; and detailed how our oversight [link removed] on Judiciary Committee ended the Era of Censorship.
And then there is the Coastal Commission, whose powers my legislation would strip away. With Newsom asking Congress [link removed] for $40 billion, it appears increasingly likely that the Commission’s days of running roughshod over the rights of Californians are coming to an end.
