Team, Mike Johnson and House Republicans passed a budget bill that could make sweeping cuts to Medicaid, nearly $900 billion, even though Trump has tried to save face and said he would not touch the program in budget proposals. We cannot trust the House budget.
Nearly 3 million, over 25 percent, of Ohioans rely on Medicaid for health coverage. This program is vital to providing coverage for our most vulnerable Ohioans, including those who are disabled and low-income.
Why are Trump and the GOP coming after Medicaid? To extend the tax cuts for the wealthy they passed in 2017.
Let me be clear, friend: This is a budget for billionaires, made possible off the backs of workers.
My Democratic colleagues and I won't stand for this and will fight every day to take back the House and protect programs that benefit all of us — not just the wealthy.
