Last night the Republican chaos was on full display as they tried to pass
their heartless budget in the House of Representatives.
After canceling the vote and then calling us back in, they pushed their
harmful budget resolution through — the first step in their plan to gut
lifesaving programs that kids, retirees, and families in Delaware rely on.
I was proud to stand with every single House Democrat to vote no.
The heartless House Republican budget guts Medicaid, which one in four
Delawareans and one in two Delaware kids relies on. It also slashes food
assistance for kids and seniors, at a time when more than 100,000
Delawareans rely on SNAP to put food on the table.
All of that just to fund trillions of dollars in tax giveaways to Donald
Trump’s billionaire friends and giant corporations. It does nothing to
lower costs facing working families — instead, it’ll increase costs.
I’m going to work every day to fight for working families in Delaware and
across the country. But with Republicans in control of Congress, I’m
counting on your support to keep up the pressure.
