VOICES: The stone is in our hands, now we take the shot

In mid-February, workers at an Amazon warehouse in North Carolina fell short in their union election, which the union attributed in part to the retail giant's "relentless and illegal effort to intimidate" workers. February 1 marked the 65th anniversary of the student lunch counter sit-ins in Greensboro, North Carolina that sparked student civil rights protests across the country. In a 1981 edition of Southern Exposure, the Institute featured oral histories of four organizers involved.
