Last week, over 1,000 National Park Service employees were fired without warning. Rangers, EMTs, and stewards of our country’s most cherished public lands were let go with a cold, bureaucratic email that falsely claimed they weren’t qualified for their jobs.

These layoffs aren’t about cutting costs. The National Park Service’s budget is a tiny fraction of federal spending. This was a cruel and political decision, plain and simple. And the effects are going to be devastating. Parks across the country will now struggle to operate with the loss of park rangers, EMTs, and more. Our SEEC Members are working to protect these public lands and the stewards of them. Will you chip in $10, $25, or whatever you can to help us stop this outrageous attack on federal employees? The people who work in our national parks don’t do it to get rich. They do it out of love — love of conservation, love of education, and love for sharing America’s incredible natural land with millions of visitors every year. But now, many of them have not only lost their jobs, but they’re also homeless after being evicted from park housing.

SEEC members like SEEC Co-Chair Rep. Mike Quigley have always fought for our national parks and the workers who protect them. Rep. Quigley leads the annual Climate Change in Our National Parks tour, educating members of Congress and the public on how climate disasters are threatening these lands and pushing for real solutions. We’ve been fighting for our national parks for a long time, and there’s no way we’re going to stop now.

If you’re like us and believe our national parks should be preserved, protected, and fully staffed, chip in today to help our SEEC members fight back. [[link removed]]

Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand.
