Elon Musk and Republicans have launched a coordinated attack on public broadcasters PBS and NPR.

The Trump administration launched investigations into PBS and NPR aimed at slashing their federal funding. Musk called NPR propaganda. Marjorie Taylor Greene is dragging the CEOs of both public outlets in front of her DOGE (Delivering on Government Efficiency) subcommittee for reporting the truth about Trump.1 And the House GOP officially introduced a bill to fully defund PBS and NPR.2

It’s an all-out attack that only Congress can stop. Our lawmakers must stand up to Trump and Musk’s attempts to destroy popular, reliable public media. It’s a fight to prevent a complete takeover by right-wing disinformation.

If Musk and Trump succeed, they’ll be able to further consolidate the flow of news through their preferred channels that spew lies and far-right propaganda.

Musk’s DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) has been recklessly taking down Musk’s perceived enemies. NPR and PBS will meet a similar fate unless Congress stands up to these attacks. Public broadcasters are massively popular across partisan lines, so we have a chance to pressure lawmakers to stand by their constituents.
