John,
As the pandemic continues to affect each and every one of us, and as communities in Minneapolis and across the nation are in mourning…there are still elections. And it's clear how high the stakes are in 2020 for the direction of our democracy.
On Tuesday — four days from now — voters will cast ballots for WFP-endorsed candidates in Democratic primaries in several states including Maryland, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and the District of Columbia. Everyone will be watching to see if we can build on the progress we've made in 2018, 2019, and this year electing champions who will fight for justice.
But these primaries look remarkably different because of COVID-19. Many voters will be voting by mail, which means many of them are in possession of ballots and researching their choices now.
Your grassroots support ensures that we can reach as many voters as possible in the final days of these primaries. Can we count on you to chip in $3 or more before the end of the month to fuel our GOTV efforts?

There's a lot riding on these primaries.
America's billionaires have become $434 billion richer during this pandemic while millions of Americans have lost their jobs, their health insurance, and any semblance of financial security. Tens of thousands of Americans have lost their lives to COVID-19, and communities across the country are mourning yet another murderous incident of police violence and fighting for justice. But WFP candidates aren't afraid of taking on these problems with bold, transformative solutions.
Pennsylvania WFP is supporting candidates like PA State Rep. Summer Lee who is facing a challenge from the same establishment forces she defeated back in 2018. We're also boosting other progressive candidates ready to take back the state legislature from extreme Republicans who are rushing to reopen the state (and who even failed to disclose that one of their own members had tested positive for COVID-19).
And New Mexico WFP has endorsed a slate of primary challengers in Tuesday's primaries who are taking on corporate Democrats that have consistently voted with Republicans to block and stall pro-working families legislation for years.
In these states and others, we're working hard to reach voters at home through texts, phone calls, and other digital outreach, but we can't let up now. Whether we win or lose on Tuesday is up to each and every one of us.
The Working Families Party relies heavily on grassroots support from people like you chipping in $3, $10, or $27 at a time in order to recruit, train, and get out the vote for our candidates. Click here to contribute before the month ends on Sunday — we need to hit our $68,000 goal to keep these GOTV programs on track.
In solidarity,
The Working Families Party
