Dear Friends,
Happy Friday! This week, I held a telephone town hall to discuss how I am continuing to serve the Second District during the dysfunction of the Trump administration. We had a record attendance of over 11,000 participants. Thank you for engaging with me and sharing your thoughts and concerns.
You can watch the recorded livestream of the event here.
Standing Up Against the Trump Administration

Just one month into the Trump administration, our country has been filled with fear and uncertainty. The President has fired thousands of federal workers, frozen federal funds, and threatened critical benefits for Americans, including Social Security.
I held a press conference to condemn President Trump's actions and House Republicans' proposed budget cuts to Social Security, Medicaid, and SNAP. I stood with educators, healthcare professionals, and community leaders who have been impacted by the administration's chaos.
Your voices are powerful, and together, we can fight back. I will always stand against corruption and self-interest that puts lives at risk.
Visiting the University of Chicago Law School

I had the pleasure of visiting the University of Chicago Law School to speak with students about my career in public service and share my thoughts on our current political climate.
Our conversation was truly inspiring. Hearing from the next generation of lawyers during these challenging times was insightful, and a glimpse into how they will continue to uphold our laws. The future is bright with their passion and curiosity.
Speaking Out with Citizen Action Illinois
Medicaid supports 3.4 million Illinoisans, and SNAP lifts nearly 300,000 people above the poverty line every year. These programs are vital — but President Trump wants to cut them by billions of dollars to give a $4 trillion tax cut to his wealthy friends.
I joined Citizen Action Illinois to speak out against the attacks that these programs have faced over the past few weeks. Without them, millions of Illinoisans would be stripped of quality healthcare, Social Security benefits, and reliable meals.

Sincerely,
Robin L. Kelly Member of Congress
