Dear Friend,
It’s only been one month since President Trump has been in office, but he’s already delivering results directly to you. After four years of weak leadership and skyrocketing costs, America is already stronger, safer, and more prosperous.
In Wisconsin, gas prices are down from a month ago as President Trump continues to unleash American energy dominance. In addition, Joe Biden’s costly appliance mandates, which would have made water heaters $2,800 more expensive, have been blocked.
Red tape is also already being cut, which will fast-track energy projects like Line 5 and the Nemadji Trail Energy Center in Superior. As Telegram readers know, these two critical projects have been stalled for years under bureaucratic delays, but President Trump plans to fast-track them, ensuring reliable, affordable energy and good-paying jobs for our communities.
Across all departments, President Trump is also cutting waste, fraud, and abuse, saving taxpayers $55 billion so far and clawing back tens of millions of dollars in FEMA funds that were diverted to house illegal aliens in luxury New York City hotels.
And President Trump’s wins in his first month back in office do not stop there.
He has restored common sense back into women’s sports, and the sport federations are following suit. This week, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) approved a new policy to ban men from competing in girls’ sports.
To keep America safe, this week, he officially declared numerous cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. He also sent troops to secure our border, ended loopholes that allowed millions of illegal aliens into our country, and signed the Laken Riley Act into law to deport criminal illegal aliens. All of these actions have made illegal border crossings hit lows not seen in decades.
Abroad, President Trump has already freed eleven American hostages, re-designated Iran-backed Houthis as terrorists, and is actively securing peace in Ukraine and Russia.
America is regaining respect on the world stage, control over our own borders, and restoring energy dominance here at home. And we are just getting started.
Thanks again for starting off your weekend with us! We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Tiffany Telegram.
Sincerely,
Tom Tiffany Member of Congress

Turning off the illegal immigration magnet
Regular Telegram readers know that I’ve been warning about the immense strain placed on public assistance programs by the unprecedented influx of foreigners that flooded into American communities from coast to coast during the Biden years. Mr. Biden’s reckless open-borders policies put increased pressure on everything from schools to public health programs, squeezing local budgets and making life harder for vulnerable U.S. citizens – our friends and neighbors who rely on these safety net programs to make ends meet. The costs have been staggering – an estimated $451 billion since 2021 alone. Even worse, Mr. Biden’s dangerous policies served as a “magnet” for even more migrants to come to the United States in search of “free” benefits, housing, and other services. That’s why I was pleased this week when President Trump issued an executive order that will put a stop to this gravy train by ending welfare benefits for illegal aliens. You can read more about his order here. This new, common-sense directive will complement a related order issued by President Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi, which aims to cut off funds to so-called “sanctuary cities” that encourage illegal immigration and put surrounding communities at risk by blocking federal immigration enforcement efforts. You can read more about her efforts here.
Burying the death tax
Grieving families shouldn’t have to give up their family farm or small business after losing a loved one. Unfortunately, when a loved one passes, many of these family-owned businesses are met with an unfair double tax they cannot pay and are forced to sell off. To help right this wrong, I joined Randy Feenstra (IA-04) and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) in introducing the Death Tax Repeal Act. This would permanently eliminate the death tax on America’s family farms and small businesses. You can read more about this bill here.

Recent Legislation
Saving the nine
Throughout the past several years, we have seen calls from Democrats to increase the size of the Supreme Court and undermine the constitutional separation of powers. Despite these numerous, highly partisan attempts to “pack” the Court throughout our history, it has thankfully remained at nine justices for over 150 years. It is vital that we continue to preserve the credibility of the judicial branch and maintain the long-standing structure of our highest court. This week, I cosponsored Representative Dusty Johnson’s (SD-At Large) constitutional amendment to ensure the number of Supreme Court justices remains at nine. You can read more about the proposal here.
Protecting local radio
Whether you’re on a long car ride, driving to work, or simply going to the grocery store, people – especially in rural areas – appreciate the opportunity to listen to the local radio. Local radio is integral to many people’s daily routines and is relied on for news, weather, traffic alerts, important announcements, and entertainment. In recent years local radio has been under threat, with the global recording industry advocating for all radio stations to have to pay a destructive performance fee. Unfortunately, implementing this fee would be detrimental to many of these small stations because they simply cannot afford it. This is why I am, again, cosponsoring the Local Radio Freedom Act to pledge my support for community broadcasters.
District Update
West Point meet and greet
If you or someone you know is interested in attending the United States Military Academy West Point, then you won’t want to miss this upcoming meet and greet opportunity. On Wednesday, March 12th at 2:00 pm, COL Riley Post, West Point’s Deputy Director of Admissions, will be coming to Athens High School to meet with school counselors, students, and parents about what it means to attend West Point. COL Post will provide tips for applying to the military academy and answer any questions you may have. A member of my staff will also be there to go over the nomination process for being accepted into the academy. All high school students admitted to our nation's military service academies must first receive a nomination from at least one member of their state's Congressional Delegation, the Vice President, or the President. For more details on receiving my nomination to a service academy, click here.
