It has been a whirlwind month, and a time of chaos, tragedy, and confusion because of actions by the Trump Administration and the work of Elon Musk.

Here are a few actions I’ve taken: 

1. Last week, a coalition of my fellow State Financial Officers and I released a joint statement about the alarming retraction of $80 million federal funds, already allocated to and held by the City of New York. Here is what my colleagues and I said -                                                            

2. Yesterday, I joined Rep. Sarah Elfreth for a discussion of what federal funding cuts mean for Maryland and how we are reacting and preparing. We are also in touch with Governor Moore’s team and Attorney General Brown’s team to ensure we are all working together. 

3. We have also launched a webpage for any businesses or nonprofits that continue to have trouble accessing allocated federal funds. Check it out and share it - HERE. 

I promise to continue to monitor the Trump administration’s actions and to work with state leaders to do what we can to protect our businesses, nonprofits, and communities.
