     On Monday, January 27th, President Trump issued an illegal order to freeze virtually all of approved and congressionally appropriated federal funding. While several courts have ordered the Trump Administration to unlock these funds, there are countless reports across the nation of organizations still unable to access congressionally obligated funding, like Title I schools and federal grant funding. It has also been widely reported that the Trump Administration also is preparing an executive order to abolish the Department of Education. In Congress, House Republicans have also proposed $11 billion in funding cuts for the Department of Education. This would have detrimental impacts across our state and country.
