Dear John,
A new report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has revealed that Iran’s growing stockpile of higher-enriched uranium could form the core of six nuclear weapons if weaponized. This is a wake-up call: as long as both sides escalate tensions, the risk of war will continue to grow.
That’s why NIAC is calling on the U.S. and Iran to immediately enter negotiations toward a “Verified Nuclear Peace Agreement.” Instead of doubling down on failed “maximum pressure” policies or allowing hardliners to dictate the path forward, we must push for diplomacy that reduces tensions, prevents nuclear proliferation, and averts another devastating war in the Middle East.

There is still time to act—but only if the U.S., Iran, and key international players, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and European powers, intervene to move the U.S. and Iran swiftly to the negotiating table.
