Dear AFGE Activist,

Donald Trump and his Republican allies in Congress want to eliminate the Department of Education. This is straight out of Project 2025 and will decimate vital funding that students rely on in every community. It would mean more crowded classrooms with fewer teachers and support staff.

While competitors abroad are prioritizing a strong education for the next generation, dismantling the Department of Education will weaken our country. All just to give billionaires a bigger tax break.

But when America’s strength is in peril, AFGE members stand and fight back. We are fighting in the courts, we are standing up in our communities and we are advocating in the halls of Congress. You can help by raising your voice for the public servants at the Department of Education and the vital work they do for millions of children across the country.
