Dear Friend,

The voices, stories, and power of moms (and parents too) are needed inside the Beltway now more than ever. 

That’s you. (Yes, you).

We’re reaching out to you because you live relatively near our nation’s capital – so you have the opportunity to be in D.C. from time to time, in the halls of Congress when it matters, and on Capitol Hill to represent moms and parents across the nation who can’t be in D.C. when the voices of moms are essential.

And, you are needed: What we’re seeing is anything but normal. In the past month, our government infrastructure has been threatened from all angles. An unelected oligarch, Elon Musk, has officially taken the wheel. Essential federal workers have been laid off for no good reason. And our most critical services and support systems have come under attack.

The good news is: We’re in this together. Our movement for stability, justice, and bright futures for our children and families is growing by the day. And we’re getting even more organized. 

That’s why we’re launching our first ever iteration of the – 🥁drumroll please🥁 – Mom-bassadors. Are you in? Sign up or read on to learn more.

Over the years, we’ve seen our MomsRising community come to the rescue in D.C. and on Capitol Hill in many forms – with superhero capes, storybooks, hula hoops, rally signs, megaphones, crayons, pets, and babies – and stand up for what’s right. We’re excited to introduce the next iteration of our efforts to uphold democracy: the Mom-bassadors

Mom-bassador: [defined] Any person willing to show up – from time to time, in forms big and small, often or infrequent – to stand up for our childrens’ futures, uphold our democracy, fight for unity over division, and support each other as parents, caregivers, teachers, children, and more. 

SPECIFICALLY, we’re seeking Mom-bassadors with proximity to the U.S. Capitol. 

That person could be you! You’re hearing from us because you are close to Washington D.C. We are seeking a fired-up group of moms, caregivers, and people who love them who we can count on to show up in D.C. from time to time to help us represent moms across the nation.

Would you be interested in being part of the Mom-bassadors, representing moms across the nation who can't be in D.C.?

Here’s the plan: 

1. When you sign up to be a Mom-bassador, we'll reach out to let you know when we have orientation meetings to answer your questions and share more information.
   
   
2. From there, let’s stay connected! We’ll share invitations to meet up over coffee with MomsRising leaders and team members over the coming weeks and months.
   
   
3. And, most importantly, we’ll also get to work. We’ll let you know about local opportunities to make a difference in the Washington D.C. area as they come up – and you can check your schedule to see if you have time or not with each one. Think – rallies, delivering signatures and stories from moms across the nation, taking photos, meeting with elected officials, and more.
   
   
4. Stay tuned for more! As this is our first time fighting this moment’s unprecedented, unpredictable forces, we’ll keep in close touch as this program’s needs and your needs as a Mom-bassador evolve. 

The goal is to form a strong contingent of Mom-bassadors in the D.C., Maryland, Virginia-areas who our MomsRising team can count on from time to time in this unpredictable, chaotic, and uncertain time to show up and demonstrate mom power when our leaders in Washington D.C. need to hear it and see it most.

We know you’re busy – and we want to make this work for you. We hope to send you many opportunities for involvement that you can decide if they fit in your schedule or not. No pressure to do everything! When there's so many of us involved, we can take turns overall.
