On June 5th thousands of people around the country will Wear Orange in memory of Hadiya Pendleton and all those lost to gun violence. Will you be one of them?

Hadiya was just 15 years old when she was shot and killed in the park after
school, one week after performing in President Obama’s inaugural parade.

To honor her memory and demand action, Hadiya’s friends wore orange — the color that hunters wear to avoid being shot. Their brave action became a
national movement.

This year, I invite you to join a virtual week of action June 1 — 5, starting
with a powerful conversation with Hadiya’s mother on June 1:

With more than 100 people dying due to gun violence every day, it remains an
everyday reality — especially for many Black and brown communities across the
country.

We all want to live free from fear of gun violence. We all want our loved ones
and communities to be safe. This is a human rights crisis, and we must act
together to end it.
