The Sun claimed last week that the government has wasted an £8 billion research fund on so-called “woke projects”.
In print, a subheading on its front page said “£8bn research cash used for trans-friendly robots, ‘queer animals’ and TikTok dance…”, while its online headline said: “Govt squander £8BILLION fund on projects like TikTok dancing, ‘queer animals’ & pro-trans robots in latest waste outrage.”

A picture is being shared online with false claims it shows the First Lady of France, Brigitte Macron, as a boy in childhood.
The claim is false, and is part of a baseless but enduring conspiracy theory which has been fact checked many times that Mrs Macron was not born female.

A viral Facebook post claims that a video shows how the BBC “accidentally admitted” HIV was added to the Covid vaccines, but this is missing some important context.
The BBC was reporting on a trial vaccine that contained an HIV protein, not the virus itself, and which was never rolled out to the public.
