John,

As Pope Francis reminded U.S. bishops in his recent letter ([link removed]) , our response to immigration must be rooted in the Gospel call to love our neighbors and uphold the dignity of every person.

The Holy Father urges us to move beyond fear and division, embracing policies that prioritize compassion, justice, and the well-being of families seeking safety and opportunity. In a time when so many migrants and refugees face hardship and rejection, we are called to be a Church that welcomes, accompanies, and advocates for humane policies that reflect the love of Christ.

[link removed] we have a powerful opportunity to put our faith into action. Join us in urging our federal officials to support policies that protect immigrant families and create just pathways to citizenship. I recognize that it can feel like our elected officials are not listening sometimes, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue communicating our hopes for the country and its communities.

You can easily send a message to your members of Congress, President Trump, and Vice President Vance, ([link removed]) through the Ignatian Solidarity Network’s action alert ([link removed]) , amplifying the call for an immigration system that honors human dignity.

Let us heed Pope Francis’s call to "open our hearts" and ensure that our nation reflects the values of mercy and solidarity. Take action today ([link removed]) and stand with our immigrant brothers and sisters!

Gratefully,
