I joined hundreds of New Yorkers at the Stonewall National Monument to protest Trump’s latest attacks against transgender people.

The removal of language from federal websites that refer to the transgender community, including on the Stonewall website, is just one of the many attacks on our LGBTQ+ neighbors coming from the Trump Administration.

We cannot sit idly by and wait to see what the administration does next, it’s time to take action. I will never stop fighting for the trans community, but I need you with me.

The Trump administration and Republicans are implementing a crackdown on the very existence of the trans community. They are trying to erase an entire group of people all just to please their bigoted MAGA base.

As one of their first acts in the new Congress, Speaker Johnson and House Republicans banned transgender people from using single-sex bathrooms that align with their gender identities in the Capitol.

Republicans in the House of Representatives passed a ban on transgender women and girls participating in women’s sports.

Trump and Republicans have attacked gender-affirming care for transgender adolescents.

Trump signed an Executive Order banning transgender people from serving in the military and reversed efforts to protect against discrimination in housing, education and immigration policy.

Trump also ordered that the U.S. government will recognize only two sexes, male and female, that are fixed at birth.

And these are just a handful of the hateful, bigoted policies Trump and his Republican allies are implementing.

We cannot stay silent. We must call out Republicans’ reckless attacks against the transgender community and fight back against this hate-fueled discrimination.

As a senior member of the Judiciary Committee and as a leader in Congress, I will continue to do everything in my power to fight for our transgender friends and neighbors.
