Email from Rep. Van Duyne I'm committed to shrinking the bureaucracy! Today I introduced legislation that will do just that. Irving, TX – After two productive weeks in Washington, it was great to be home in North Texas and meet with folks across our community! I’m grateful for the city leaders and workers who did a great job preparing for the freezing weather and keeping drivers safe. On Saturday, I joined the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation for a panel discussion on regulations affecting the digital industry. The American people are tired of the censorship industrial complex and House Republicans are working to protect free speech! Tuesday, I had the chance to tour Southern Glazer’s massive warehouse in Fort Worth. Fun fact: the facility is the size of 19 football fields! We discussed how the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts allowed the company to grow and offer higher wages to North Texans. On Wednesday morning, I visited Black & Veatch's office in Dallas and met with their team. Black & Veatch is an employee-owned business with over a 100 year history as a global leader in engineering, construction, and program management. We had a great discussion about their projects in our area and my work to make it easier and more affordable to build. Do you remember the Aggies who went viral in 2009 during their crazy trick shot competition? Now an international sensation, it was great to join Dude Perfect on Wednesday afternoon as they opened a new state-of-the-art headquarters in Frisco. Thursday marked one month of President Trump's second term in which he has been busy with lowering costs, restoring transparency, and prioritizing safety and security, delivering on promises that he made to the American people. This morning, I toured Project Star, which is a massive expansion that will more than double Deloitte University’s Westlake campus. It was exciting to see the progress they’ve made on the new buildings! Texas-24 Work of the Week This week, I introduced legislation to codify President Trump’s executive action to shrink the bloated bureaucracy. The REDUCE Act will force agencies to eliminate duplicative positions and reform hiring practices to rein in the administrative state. Texas-24 Hometown Hero Our Texas-24 Hometown Hero of the week is Corporal Donald "Don" Graves, a Fort Worth resident and World War II veteran. Graves courageously served as a flamethrower in the Second Battalion of Iwo Jima. Congressional Internship Program Have you ever wanted to serve your community in a Congressional office?
