Woodworth, of Cleveland, will assume office on March 10, 2025, and will be taking the seat formerly held by Judge Lauren C. Moore. He will serve the remainder of the unfinished term and will need to run for election in November 2025 to retain the seat.

Governor DeWine and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik announced [ [link removed] ] approximately $50 million in grant funding is now available to help communities across the state clean up contaminated properties and prepare them for redevelopment.

The funding will be awarded as part of the Brownfield Remediation Program [ [link removed] ], which was launched by the DeWine Administration in 2021. The program helps communities clean up industrial, commercial, and institutional brownfield sites that are abandoned, idled, or underutilized due to a known or potential release of hazardous substances or petroleum.

“Cleaning up and revitalizing these properties opens the door for new businesses, safer housing, and better job opportunities,” said Governor DeWine. “From the first dollar we awarded through this program to now, we’ve given our communities the resources they need to build a stronger future.”

Long-Term Care Quality Navigator landing page

Governor DeWine and Ohio Department of Aging (ODA)* *Director Ursel J. McElroy announced [ [link removed] ] the launch of the newly enhanced Ohio Long-Term Care Quality Navigator [ [link removed] ].

Formerly known as the Ohio Nursing Home Quality Navigator, the nationally recognized online tool provides users with detailed information about the quality of long-term care facilities across the state in one convenient digital location. The new name coincides with the addition of nearly 800 assisted living facilities to the Navigator, in addition to the nearly 930 nursing homes that had previously been included.

“When it comes to Ohioans choosing where to get care for themselves or a loved one, the most important thing is making sure people are confident that they have all the data and knowledge they need to make an informed decision,” said Governor DeWine. “By adding assisted living facilities to our Navigator, we are now providing detailed information on more than 1,700 long-term care facilities, all in one place. This powerful tool will help more people choose the best place for their needs.”

Governor DeWine, Ohio Department of Public Safety Director Andy Wilson, and Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Superintendent Col. Charles Jones announced [ [link removed] ] that enhanced aviation downlink technology is now available for use by local law enforcement statewide.

The expanded technology allows OSHP's Aviation Unit to transmit live feeds of aerial video footage to command staff on the ground during active, evolving criminal investigations and emergencies. Previously available only to local law enforcement in the areas surrounding Columbus and Akron, nine strategically placed downlink receivers now make it possible to transmit aerial video from anywhere in the state.

“This technology virtually puts the on-ground incident commander up in the sky with our Ohio State Highway Patrol team, giving them broader perspectives of active scenes and more information to help make critical public safety decisions," said Governor DeWine. "Before now, local law enforcement relied on the Patrol to describe aerial views via radio, but giving them the ability to see the scene with their own eyes is so much more effective."
