1) Trump's Big Beautiful Bill Passes First Big Test

We won - and America won - by ONE vote 217-215.

This is a huge bullish development and raises the odds enormously that the we will get the tax cut through Congress after all.

Congratulations to House Speaker Mike Johnson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, President Trump (whose last minute phone calls to wavering members pushed it over the goal line) and Budget Committee Chairman Jody Arrington (who wrote the budget resolution) for a Herculean effort.

Big win too for Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who masterfully shepherded the bill through the House.

There was only one defector, Thomas Massie of Kentucky. We love Tom, but he made a bad call here.

Last week the Senate promised that if the House passed the tax cut, they would do the same.

OK. Get on with it. There's no reason this can't be done in the first 100 days - i.e., the president signs the big beautiful bill by Memorial Day.

2) Every Liberal in the House Just Voted for the Biggest Tax Increase in American History

Look closely at the vote tally pictured above! Not one single Democrat voted to stop a $4 trillion tax increase on virtually every American family and business - big and small - starting on January 1, 2026.

So many on the Left are truly lost in the wilderness. SO sad.

Here are the taxes they voted to raise. Notice the source:

3) End of the Road for Electric Vehicle Subsidies

The Biden admin promised to build 500,000 EV charging stations at a taxpayer cost of $7.5 billion. At last count, they had built ... 55! They were off by 99.99%. And remember it was Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg who ran that program. (He's on the shortlist for the Democratic presidential nomination for 2028).

Good news: Trump officially paused the program this month.

Trump is also removing EVs from the government's fleet and preparing to sell them. Remember all the $1 million electric school buses that malfunctioned?

We've always argued the worst thing that ever happened to the EV industry was the government showering it with subsidies.

Here's to a new beginning for the industry that will now have to cater to car buyers, not politicians.

Way to lead by example, Mr. President.

4) Youngkin to Displaced Federal Workers: We Have Private Sector Jobs for You

Because of its proximity to the nation's capital, Virginia has a big federal workforce of 145,000 people. Many have taken the federal buyout and are looking for new jobs. The media is crying a river about the unfairness of it all.

So it's good news that Governor Glenn Youngkin has launched a "Virginia Has Jobs" program, to help these displaced or early retiring federal workers find new employment opportunities.

But no good deed goes unpunished in politics.

Senate Democratic Leader Scott Surovell sneered that "Virginians want Governor Youngkin to stand up and fight for their jobs instead of taking a knee."

But it was Biden who flippantly and ridiculously told coal miners he would replace their jobs with teaching them how to code.

There are plenty of private sector jobs that laid off federal employees can fill. But, sorry, they WILL have to show up for work instead of phoning it in.

5) Nefarious IRS Employee Stole Nearly Half a Million Private Tax Returns

As we have reported before, the victim count of IRS thief Chaz Littlejohn grew last year from "thousands" to an estimated 50,000 to 70,000 - well after he received a sweetheart single count plea bargain from the Biden administration.

Now, thanks to an investigation by House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, we know that an eye-popping 405,427 taxpayers have been notified by the IRS that up to 15 years of their returns were stolen by Littlejohn and sent to the liberal advocacy group ProPublica.

UP President, Phil Kerpen's X post on this has over seven million views thanks to a repost by Elon Musk, who unlike Chaz Littlejohn has not stolen any confidential information.

Amazingly, the Left still praise Littlejohn as a hero and liberal groups and media outlets even tried to convince Biden to pardon him.
