Republicans Argue Over Whether Teachers Should Hit Disabled Kids -- Democrats Get Organized to Fight for You

It was another shameful day brought to you by Republican Legislators at the State Capitol. Sixteen Senate Republicans voted against SB 364, a bill that prohibits school teachers from hitting children with disabilities. [[link removed]]

Enough Republicans in our State Senate prefer that school employees be allowed to hit disabled children that the Emergency vote on the measure failed.

Also today, a Senate Committee advanced a bill to prohibit almost every town in the state from offering services to our homeless neighbors.

On days like today, it is tempting to throw up our hands and give up. When our elected officials act so far from common decency and common sense it is hard to believe in a better Oklahoma.
But I know a better Oklahoma is possible. Because we are building it right now.

Just this past weekend over a hundred dedicated community members, leaders, and volunteers gathered to improve Democratic organizing and engagement. We offered classes from national experts on running winning campaigns. We had seminars on how to host better events. We held shared our experiences and perspectives on building resilient, mobilized communities.

We hosted outgoing DNC Chair Jaime Harrison. He came to Oklahoma to share his insights on building strong Democratic movements in red states like ours. And we planned how the Party will lead the fight to protect Oklahomans' jobs, benefits, and our democracy.

While Republicans continue to aggressively push extremist MAGA policies, Democrats will keep fighting harder for you and your family.
