Exploring changes in Black homeownership and housing wealth
Black families&rsquo; homeownership rates nationally have recently improved, although Black housing wealth still varies across local markets.


How can data help leaders better tailor solutions for closing housing wealth gaps?


For Black History Month, researchers used the

Upward Mobility Data Dashboard  to understand changes in Black homeownership and housing wealth at the county level.


In 92 of the 100 counties examined, Black housing wealth disparities narrowed. Data reveal substantial variations and changes in the gap, so local market analyses are key to equipping policymakers to address their communities&rsquo; housing wealth disparities.
