ART PREVIEW AT THE CAPITOL

It was a great opportunity for Representative Matsumoto to visit the newly installed mock-up of Solomon Enos' glass art in the ʻEwa pools at the Capitol. This glass art is currently being created in Germany and will replace the reflecting pools, with installation scheduled for 2026 This stunning installation brings new life to the space and beautifully reflects Hawaii’s culture. She is excited to see the finished piece come to life in the Capitol.

MEETING WITH KELII AKINA, GRASSROOT INSTITUTE OF HAWAII

Representative Muraoka had a great meeting with Keli‘i Akina from the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, discussing ways to improve Hawaii’s future. Their conversation focused on economic growth, government transparency, and expanding opportunities for local communities. HONORING DR. AMEFIL “AMY” AGBAYANI

Last Wednesday, the House honored Dr. Amefil “Amy” Agbayani. Dr. Agbayani has fought for social justice, education, and immigrant rights since coming to Hawaii in the 1960s. Dr. Agbayani was the founding chair of Hawaii Civil Rights Commission, created Operation Manong in 1972 to tutor Filipinos at UH, and recently helped establish the Filipino Community Center’s “Filcom Cares.”

EWA ELEMENTARY 81ST LINCOLN DAY

Representative David Alcos is an alum of Ewa Elementary from the 1970's. In the first picture is his niece (Ewa Elementary alum) and nephew who are both teachers in this school district. In the second picture is his grand niece who currently attend Ewa Elementary. This 81st Lincoln Day celebration was oh so bittersweet for him!

Representative Elijah Pierick recently visited Ewa Elementary School, where he engaged with students and faculty while also meeting the school's principal. Additionally, he spent time with the orchid club at Ewa Beach, engaging with its members and learning about their activities.

Our future farmers showcased their dedication and skills in a series of Career Development Events, demonstrating the importance of agriculture in our communities.
