Game and Fish works with partners to free green suckers trapped along Oxbow Bend
Earlier this winter, personnel from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, the Bridger-Teton National Forest, Grand Teton National Park and Trout Unlimited worked together to transport 891 green suckers from a shallow pool at Oxbow Bend along the Snake River. Oxbow Bend, located between Moran Junction and Jackson Lake Dam in Grand Teton National Park, became a temporary trap for these fish due to unusual winter conditions when a spring-fed pool remained free of ice after the surrounding area froze solid.

2025 Wyoming Wildlife photo contest winners announced
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department congratulates the winners of Wyoming Wildlife magazine’s annual photo contest. Photographers of all ages showcased their skills in the 55th annual contest, which received more than 3,000 submissions. The grand prize winner for best overall photo titled, “Somebody doesn’t want to share,” of two gray wolves from Evan Watts of Gardiner, Mont.
