News from Congresswoman Kim

Dear Friend,

I want to make sure you hear directly from me on initiatives we’re working on in Congress.

Tonight, the House voted on a resolution that allows us to debate specifics on a budget.

There’s been a lot of misinformation spreading about this resolution. This is not a vote on a budget itself. There are no line-by-line items listed.

This resolution does not specify cuts to specific programs, such as Medicaid. I want to be very clear I understand how important Medicaid is for many of my constituents to access health care services.

Rather, this resolution allows Congress to have constructive debates on the importance of these programs in respective committees as we work to get our country back on the right fiscal track and make better use of taxpayer dollars.

A budget bill that does not protect vital Medicaid services and address the cap on state and local tax (SALT) deductions will not receive my vote.

I want to be clear on this. I have made my concerns clear to my colleagues and leadership in the House of Representatives.

My bosses are the hardworking people in our communities, not anyone in Washington. I’ll continue to update you as Congress works to finalize a budget.

As Congress debates a budget, I humbly ask you to share your thoughts so I can advocate on your behalf.

Is protecting Medicaid important to you?

Is addressing the cap on SALT deductions important to you?

My team and I are here to serve you. If you ever need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office. I also encourage you to receive real-time updates on my work for you in Congress by following me on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram.

Sincerely,
