Small Business & Worker Relief Fund Deadline: 5 p.m., Sunday, March 2

Small businesses and workers directly impacted by the recent wildfires are encouraged to apply for financial assistance from the Small Business Relief Fund and Worker Relief Fund before the 5 p.m. deadline on Sunday, March 2, 2025. 

Small businesses impacted by the wildfires can apply for up to $25,000 and workers who lost income due to the wildfires can apply for up to $2,000.  Watch the video [ [link removed] ] below (or in Spanish [ [link removed] ]) to learn more.

Supervisor Barger Secures Clear Answers from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Tree Removal in Altadena

For private properties, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers confirmed that before debris removal begins, field teams and contractors will conduct a comprehensive walkthrough with property owners. During this process, homeowners will be consulted about trees on their property and their signed consent will be required before any tree is removed. *LA County Recovers Press Conference*

Tomorrow, Feb. 26 at 8 a.m., LA County Supervisors Kathryn Barger and Lindsey Horvath will host a press conference with LA County officials to provide essential information and present the latest updates on recovery efforts underway from the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires.

If you have opted in and would like the status of Phase 2 debris removal, use this tool [ [link removed] ] to search your address and monitor real-time updates on your submission.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has completed debris removal on the first residential property to undergo Phase 2 cleanup operations. Read more here [ [link removed] ]. 

For those opting into the government-sponsored debris removal program, the online Right of Entry form is available here [ [link removed] ]. The form also is available in Spanish, [ [link removed] ] Russian [ [link removed] ], Armenian [ [link removed] ], Korean [ [link removed] ], and Simplified Chinese [ [link removed] ].

*For those who opt-out:* Property owners who choose to hire private contractors for fire debris removal can now receive a permit that allows home and business owners and their authorized private contractors to manage their own debris removal efforts while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards.

Food Distribution for Impacted Residents in East Hollywood

Hosted by Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, the distribution at LA City College (755 New Hampshire Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90029) will provide boxes of non-perishable items, fresh produce, face masks, and diapers, and will include a resource fair with County Departments. The event will be on "Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m". 

 

City of Malibu Town Hall

The City of Malibu will host a fire debris removal town hall at Malibu City Hall and via Zoom on "Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m."  Click here [ [link removed] ] for more information. 

 

Palisades Fire Recovery Town Hall 

Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath and representatives from LA County Public Works, LA County Public Health, U.S. Army Corps, EPA, CA Insurance Commissioner, and more will answer questions about all aspects of Palisades Fire recovery via webinar "Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. "

Free Medical and Mental Health Clinic in Pasadena

The Eaton Health Village, in partnership with the Department of Mental Health, is providing free medical and mental health care every Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pasadena Seventh-Day Adventist Church (1280 E. Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104).

Services include medical consultations, medical refills, mental health services and case management, vision care, and dental care. Questions? Call 855-665-4621, press 3.
