Thom Tillis cast the deciding vote to confirm Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services last week.

His support put RFK Jr., an extremist who has spent decades undermining vaccine science and profiting off lawsuits against public health initiatives, in charge of the $1.7 trillion Health and Human Services agency that’s responsible for the well-being of millions of Americans.

Tillis shrugged off constituent concerns, saying he wanted a “different kind of disruptor” at HHS. That’s the same excuse he used last week when he defended Elon Musk’s blatant abuse of power, telling reporters that Musk was acting unconstitutionally but that “nobody should bellyache about that.”

Thom Tillis has proven that he doesn’t work for North Carolinians. He’s nothing but a rubber stamp for Trump’s agenda — and he’s happy to hand control of the government to Elon Musk or confirm deeply unqualified cabinet members.

North Carolina deserves better. We deserve leaders who stand by their word and fight for us — not ones who bow to Trump and his billionaire friends.
