Republicans just wrapped up their annual Conservative Political Action
Conference yesterday where they spent the weekend holding what amounted to
a MAGA pep rally.

They listened to speeches from people like Donald Trump and Elon Musk,
held roundtables, and conducted their annual straw poll which included a
question on which Democrat they believe poses the greatest threat to the
U.S.

Well, the results are in — and the “winner” is me. According to Donald
Trump’s closest allies, I am the Democrat who poses the greatest threat to
the U.S.

friends for years, and it is a badge of honor that I wear with pride. But
as Trump and his allies scale up their attacks against me, I need folks

CPAC is the most prominent gathering of conservative leaders and activists
in the country.

Look no further than the list of speakers who spoke at the conference over
the weekend. It includes Attorney General Pam Bondi, Speaker Mike Johnson,
Ben Shapiro, Elon Musk, Vice President J.D. Vance, and President Donald
Trump.

All of these folks have relentlessly pinned me as their #1 boogeyman to
their supporters. Through censure votes. Through far-right rallies.
Through Fox News interviews. Through mountains and mountains of Tweets.

So when I am chosen by grassroots conservatives as the Democrat that poses
the greatest threat to them, it’s because the most influential Republicans
in the country have spent years attacking me and disparaging my record to
their grassroots base.

This doesn’t surprise me one bit. Ever since I investigated Russia’s
support for Trump in 2016 and impeached him for high crimes and
misdemeanors for his attempted extortion of Ukraine, MAGA world has come
after me repeatedly for my efforts to hold him accountable to the rule of
law.

In the last few months alone, Trump has attacked me as “the enemy within,”
threatened me with impeachment and prosecution, and even called me “scum”
while sitting behind the Resolute Desk during his very first day back in
office. And Elon Musk has repeatedly lied to his bazillion supporters and
called me a criminal. (I told him no, but that he was working with a guy
who was indicted four times and convicted of thirty-four felonies!)

But here’s the thing,
John: Nothing — not even
attacks from the President — will deter me from defending the Constitution
and rule of law. And I will continue to hold the Trump administration
accountable.

show that their misinformation attacks are resonating with their
