Call to Action: Urge Congress to resist funding cuts for federal research agencies!

As many of you are aware, there are ongoing efforts to reduce federal funding for biomedical research through key agencies, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

For the past 60 years, the collaboration between the federal government and our universities and medical schools has been instrumental in driving groundbreaking scientific discoveries that have led to life-saving therapies and transformative medical advancements.

Here's how you can help:

  • Call your US Representatives and Senators – Share why medical research is critical in ensuring the future of medical research for people living with severe mental illness (SMI). Phone number to call: 202-224-3121.

  • Use our TAC template to email your representatives – Use TAC's template to advocate against proposed cuts that would hinder research crucial to improving treatments for individuals living with SMI.

  • Spread the word – Share this alert with your friends and family and ask them to join the fight.

Take action now and use the TAC template here to urge Congress to resist funding cuts for Federal Research Agencies!
