BREAKING NEWS
Labour leader Keir Starmer has come out in support of our 'Right to Know' campaign, which calls for the Equal Pay Act to to be modernised. It includes a legal right to access pay information for those who suspect they're being paid unequally.

Thank you to all the women who signed our petition and raised their voices in support of this campaign, especially Kay Collins who has shared her own story so that other women won't have to face pay discrimination.
#ValueCare: It's time to start valuing carers
Today marks 50 years of the Equal Pay Act. But this isn't quite the golden anniversary we had in mind. A half century later equal pay for equal work is still not the reality for women in the UK. At the core of the issue is the fact that the work that women do, whether at home or in the office, is still undervalued.

We see this demonstrated in the low pay in sectors where women make up the majority of the workforce, particularly in the social care sector. But our new polling data shows that the public thinks care workers should be valued more.

Which is why we are marking this anniversary by raising our voices through our #ValueCare campaign. We are calling for better pay, better working conditions and reform and investment in the sector.

You can add your voice by:
📢 Telling your story on social media with #ValueCare
📢 Writing to your MP
📢 Sharing our research and the testimonies from care workers on social media

#MakeWomenVisible during the coronavirus outbreak
The Institute for Fiscal Studies has released new data about parenting during lockdown, which shows that mums are more likely to have quit, lost their job or been furloughed and they are spending less time on paid work & more time on housework than dads.

This strongly echoes what we are hearing from women across the UK in our #CoronaDiaries, including comments like these:

“The domestic load is not being shared. I do all of it, and the home schooling. My partner works from home 4 days a week, and is in the office the other day. His sense of entitlement has grown. I get the impression he thinks I am not doing enough. I would love to swap with him."

"I am due back to work next week from maternity leave. I am feeling anxious about how I will balance the child care, house work and working from home.”

Thank you so much to everyone who has been contributing to our #CoronaDiaries, we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences. Read more #CoronaDiaries and other accounts from the front line.
