Last week, I held a town hall with the people of Colorado’s First District. And across the board, one thing was crystal clear: Coloradans are fed up with the Trump Administration.

Donald Trump stormed back into office promising to lower costs, but a month in, he hasn’t lifted a finger to bring down prices. Instead, he’s crowned himself king, shredding the independence of the agencies that keep our country running, gutting critical funding that Colorado families rely on, and handing the reins of government over to his billionaire buddy, Elon Musk.

I like town halls because they give me a chance to talk to the people I answer to — the people who elected me. But that’s not how Donald Trump operates.

Instead, Trump is beholden to his billionaire buddies like Elon Musk — even going as far as giving Musk free reign to do what he pleases with his sham DOGE office. Let me make one thing clear: Elon Musk was not elected. He is not our president.

And yet, he’s slashing funding and laying off federal employees left and right with zero understanding of how our government operates.

The oath of office is to defend the Constitution, not to serve a tyrannical megalomaniac. We all know what happens to kings in America. We stand up to them. We fight back. And we win.
